Cancer Prevention & Management
Nutritional support alongside oncology care — protecting nutritional status, strength and quality of life through treatment.
Cancer prevention and support is a particular interest of mine, and an area where the boundaries matter enormously. Nutritional therapy does not treat cancer. It supports the person going through it.
During treatment, nutritional status is often what determines how well someone tolerates it. We focus on maintaining weight and lean muscle, managing nausea, taste changes, mouth soreness and appetite loss, supporting digestion, and keeping energy and morale as steady as possible.
Supplement safety is taken seriously. Several common supplements interact with chemotherapy and radiotherapy, so everything is checked against your treatment protocol, and your oncology team stays informed.
For prevention, the work is quieter and longer-term: metabolic health, body composition, fibre and phytonutrient intake, alcohol, sleep and the inflammatory load your body carries.
Where deeper integrative-oncology input is appropriate, I refer within the practitioner network.

What we look at
- Maintaining weight and lean mass
- Managing treatment-related side effects
- Nutrient-drug interaction awareness
- Close collaboration with your medical team
Common presentations
People often arrive with
- Weight and muscle loss during treatment
- Nausea, taste changes or appetite loss
- Fatigue that outlasts each treatment cycle
- Uncertainty about which supplements are safe
- Digestive changes following treatment
- Wanting to reduce long-term risk after remission
Recognise more than one of these? That is usually a sign they share a driver — which is exactly what a consultation is for.
